"Descolociémonos, 12 de Octubre nada que celebrar", "decolonize us, there's nothing to celebrate about the 12th of October" Andean Civilisations (South Americans who have indigenous roots) peacefully protest through traditional music and dance, voicing their discontentment about Christopher Columbus's date, October 12th, 1492. In Spain it's a national holiday. "Los pueblos originarios" or the original countries feel at odds with the history of Columbus and Spain right up to today. They have expressed they are still paying the price of this controversial act and it's repercussions through the centuries. They feel they continue to be exploited and that they suffer racial prejudice.
